Published: August 31, 2023
The UK Department of Education officially initiated a public consultation process pertaining to the Integrated Education Strategy Action Plan.
The ongoing engagement with prominent interest groups and stakeholders has played a pivotal role in shaping the current proposed actions. These actions, outlined in the Action Plan, are structured around five key thematic areas:
- Effective Engagement and Consultation
- Addressing Demand for Integrated Education
- Progress Measurement
- Ethos, Information, and Guidance Cultivation
- Regulation and Compliance Oversight
The consultation provides an essential platform for garnering insights and opinions regarding the Action Plan’s future direction. The Department extends a warm invitation for all interested parties to share their valuable comments. This consultation serves as a critical element within an extensive and ongoing engagement framework.
The consultation documents and an online questionnaire are accessible via this link: Integrated Education Action Plan Consultation(external link opens in a new window/tab).
The consultation window will remain open from Thursday, August 31, 2023, until Tuesday, October 31, 2023, inclusive. The Department will publish details of stakeholder events on its official website and across its social media channels in due course.
The Strategy for Integrated Education in Northern Ireland was unveiled in April 2023, representing a significant stride towards the Department’s vision of fostering “a vibrant and well-supported network of sustainable integrated schools that offer children and young individuals high-caliber integrated education experiences.”
